Les' introduction to painting was through landscapes, and he has continued to produce landscapes - albeit with a variety of different styles - throughout his career. The photographs here are of landscapes painted in Australia, (A01-07), Switzerland (B10-10) and The United Kingdom (C01-03) – all of which are countries in which he lived. If you take a look at two particular paintings (C02-03) you will get an immediate feeling for the range of his styles. Les painted the first of these (the woodland scene) in a 'realistic' style while the second of these (the lakeland hills) he painted in an 'expressionist' style. By using the tags within this gallery you may access each group of landscapes separately. You will also find an introduction to each group of paintings in the ‘description’ to be found in the first painting within each group (A01, B01, C01).
